Greens are good starter asian aros - if you can get them in the US in fact any asian aro in the US will be great because they are not freely available. But if you can afford it go for a RTG. This RTGof mine is 14" long, 8 mths old and is my fave.

beautiful RTG Yes, an RTG would definitely be worth it. It takes time and money to raise an aro. Just like a child. Thing here is, if we could only choose the children we wanna raise, we'd choose bill gates junior or einstein junior or any kid we know would make us parents proud later on. But then we're talking about aros so you have a choice. Same time and effort will be spent, same expense on maintenance, same food, same everything but the initial cost of the fish. But the outcome is definitely different. That's my opinion, i may be wrong.

That is currently my biggest RTG in the house, I have other smaller 7 inchers, hoping to sell them all otherwise will keep them in a big aro community tank. Shame I cannot ship them to US.
