Green Jack Dempsey Project

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm not sure where Hector comes in either. However, a few articles on the web say that Hector got a breeding pair from someone. Nothing that I have found on Hector says that he discovered them.

One time I brought up Jeff Rapps. Alejandro said that Jeff was the first person in the US that Alejandro sent blue dempsey's too. Now, I do know that Alejandro did not own the farm at the time of the discovery. When Alejandro showed the owner his discovery, the owner wanted it culled.

Small Update....
Good news on my second pair of BGGG's.
They just spawned about an hour ago & Mom is fanning the eggs while Dad is guarding the area.
So project continues & results will be posted.
These fry will be left with the parents to raise.

-Jill :)

Here's a few pics for you guys.
I hope you enjoy them.

As you can see there's not many eggs here, but this is the young parents first spawn & she's just a little over 2 1/2" with dad being a little over 3"... so they are very young still. ;)
I'm sorry for the water spots, but I didn't want to disturb the new parents more than I had to by taking these pics.
In the first pic you can see a few other BGGG candidates in the tank that I'll move to another tank tomorrow.

I think it's probably safe to say that Hector Luzardo was the first person to observe and study the EBJD, making him responsible for its popularity. What I've read online does seem to indicate that he bred EBJDs from a pair of BGJDs that he was given. It would be interesting to know if Mr. Chemin was the source of these parents and when exactly the first oddball EBJD randomly appeared in a spawn.

Alright... here's a pic update of my little babies :)

and a couple of more shots of the Gold & Green JD's.
Unfortunately none of the EBJD's survived the heater breaking.
But a new pair has spawned & all 4 types of JD's are expected again.

I hope you enjoyed the pics...
Thank You

Camera that I use is a SONY Cybershot DSC-HX100V. It takes Excellent pictures & video. I still haven't checked the quality of the 3D video it's capable of, but I plan on doing that some time soon.
You can read a review on the camera here. http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/sony-cyber-shot-dsc/4505-6501_7-34532712.html
