Hi...
I'm not sure if I'll sell any (Green JD's) just yet. I lost most of the babies from the first pair because the heater in the fry tank quit working one night. I have to wait & see what kind of numbers I get from the second & third BGGG pairs that I'm using for this project. If the numbers are good I'll save you a few... O.k.???

-Jill ;)

Well keep us updated... where do you live?

This thread is fascinating lol!!! Do EBJDs occur naturally in the wild? and if they do are they strong enough genetically to survive in the wild?
It's my understanding that they do occur in the wild, but don't survive because they are out-competed by their stronger Wild Type JD siblings & nature in general.

Hey do you plan on selling any of them if so when?
I believe I've answered this before, but just to let you know I'll answer it again.
If I get a good number of Greens from the second & third pair of BGGG's. (YES) I'd be glad to share some with everyone.

Well keep us updated... where do you live?
Updates are always coming & I live in Nevada.

Hey Jill- congrats on the second spawn. What size are the JDs you usually use for spawning? Do you select the pair or do you let them select each other?
I choose a group of dempsey's with the gene's features I like & let them pair themselves off in a community tank. They vary in sizes, but I use very young JD's so most pair off @ about 2 1/2" - 3".

(YES) I can share some of my bloodline with you and others if they are interested down the line. Right now I'm just using them for my breeding projects. Hopefully I can get a good strain of Greens in another (2) or (3) more generations from these babies.

and the pics of your Jack Dempsey are Amazing... I love that JD.
You're lucky to have it.

Hey Jill ...just wondering your thoughts on the matter. I know its a controversy that has been discussed over and over, but why if electric blues are naturally occurring in the wild do successfully mass JD breeders never find them in they're stock?

I believe they occur in the wild... but they (DON"T) survive in the wild. They are very fragile & grow a lot slower than their Wild Type counterpart siblings that out-compete them all around. That answers both your questions. I won't get into a debate about this subject. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & now you know mine.

-Last update here for a while

Babies are all doing well & eating BBS (Baby Brine Shrimp) & powdered Brine shrimp flakes.
Both mom & dad are very active in caring for the babies. Mom is usually right on top of the babies while dad just scouts the tank.
But when mom forces him to watch over the babies while she scouts for lost babies he doesn't move until she gives him the O.k..
Remember that (Boys) ... lulz ;)

Above are a few pics of the babies free swimming & feeding on their own now.

Above are a couple of close up pics of the fry. You can see the difference in them already.

I'll keep records for this project & eventually post my results here.

I just don't feel enough ppl are interested enough to keep updating this thread like I have been.
Final results will be posted though...

I'm very interested... I've been following since the beginning, both you and liquid lizards' progress (although she doesn't update as much as you unfortunately)

I'm glad you're enjoying the thread & information...
I just don't think enough ppl are interested to keep the updates like I've been doing.
I will Update results & add pics. But I won't update like I have been doing. If I got more replies to this thread I would consider posting again, but like it is now (NO).
I have too many running projects to keep updating here without peoples interest. I know there's a lot of views... but not enough feedback.

Here's a couple of pics I took of from the first pair the other day...

I hope you enjoy them.

I'll post more with my next update in 4+ weeks.
