There is always one that is quick to call the racial card :screwy:
There's a difference between "asians" and "them asians". When you put it that way, it's pointing out to everyone who is "asian" in general. Regardless or not, it is how I grew up and every time I hear words like that it generally points into a racial thing. When you live in a racist neighborhood enough then you'll understand what is racist and what isn't. But then again, I am assuming you guys are all fine living in a nice and peaceful neighborhood unlike where I grew up and still live in(and no I can't move to a new neighborhood - don't have the $$$ with this kind of economy). But either way, a lot will take it as how I take it I guarantee you. Try it for yourself in public. Please don't even mention any "racial" or "ethnics" ever(I'm sure you all are old enough to know this by now). You can just say breeders overseas or which ever. But lets not flame up this thread and keep it clean shall we?...:chillpill:
Overall, just because they put a lousy name doesn't mean they are a lousy seller. Chonburiman is one of the best middle man out there. MickKamfa puts name like this from time to time too. So does this make him a bad seller? I don't think so...keep in mind that everyone you see on Aquabid is not a breeder. They are the middle man for the most part. ;)

LOL ^

But to the OP, I say get the fish. Looks like it has potential.

Goofy names is right ......

Anyways, them Canadian guys sure make good beer. :D

How is Chon a middleman, I am pretty sure he has his own "farm".

They are all middleman dude. I have buddies overseas that supplies bettas for me when I was heavily into the betta hobby. They know Chonburiman and a few other middleman sellers from Singapore and Vietnam(Chinh Trung for a example). It goes for flowerhorns, bettas, and discus. The farmer supplies it to the middleman, the middleman distribute them into group members in SE Asia and the rest around the world. They may have their own little "farm" to do their own breeding, but I'm willing to bet 75% or at least 60% of their fish is from their main supplier. There is close to a hundred(maybe even more) of middleman out there, but there isn't close to hundred of farm owners. If they are the main farm owners, do you really think that they will be able to sell them all out that simple? It's like wholesale and retail here in the USA. Same concept...;)

Those certainly weren't glowing reviews.

For the amount of FH being sold by some of these guys on AB, their "farm" could fit in my garage. Seriously ....

BTW - there are 70+ ornamental fish farms, just in Singapore alone. (a very small country, with very limited agro space) Yet last year Singapore exported approx 60 million US dollars worth of tropical fish, with approx half of those fish being bred & raised on Singapore farms. The AVA reported 359 tropical species of fish being bred in Singapore way back in 2002.

Then factor in all the farms across Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, etc, and I'm quite certain that you will find a tad more than a hundred farms that breed & deal in FH in SE Asia. (as well as discus, betta, cichlids, etc) Most of those commercial farms don't waste their time with vendors who sell 20 fish a week on AB, anymore than a commercial farm in Florida would.

And there are tons of satisfaction also. MickKamfa is one of the best seller also, but people got screw over still. Same goes with Rainny and all. What my buddy said is that they know few to very little english. If you can speak their native language(which my buddy can) you would never have any issue with them whatsoever.
It's a chain here if you can see it. When one points out a negative thing about certain situation, others will follow up with their own experience with that certain situation also. But if one post about their fish from Chonburiman and their satisfaction, everyone else agrees with it. Kind of like jumping off the cliff and the rest follows along. So that thread tells nothing to me about Chonburiman and his reputation IMO.
Regardless, I don't like to hassle with overseas stuff like that. I just buy fish that is imported but already landed in the U.S. Much easier for me...:D

Where are you coming up with "tons"?

I don't know this seller personally, nor have I had any business dealings with him, but the logic that this & other problems comes from a breakdown due to a language barrier is a rather poor excuse. A close look at the sellers feedback on AB paints a fairly clear picture to me. He has only sold to 49 unique users - out of those 49 people, there were 6 neutrals, and 2 negatives left - and the pattern for the complaints is very clear - seller sent something other than what was advertised.

Neutral:Sent wrong fish and never reply back
Neutral:Never received correct fish, diff fish supposed to be sent
Neutral:decent fish i receive but fish confirm different from photo.
Negative:dishonest seller
Negative:Fish Not the Same in the Picture.Stay away from this seller!
Neutral:Photo Shop!!! Smaller head, less color! OUCH!! UNFRIENDLY
Neutral:Not the same fish as described on the auction!
Neutral:Stay away from this seller!

Then factor in that in some cases buyers do not post negative comments for fear of reprisal from seller, and the true stats could be much worse. Even as it stands, his "Unique Feedback Rating" is only 87.5%, which by my standards isn't exactly great - and this is coming from someone who for several years used to sell more items online in one week, than this seller has in total since he joined AB. Over many yrs of online selling, and thousands of pos feedback, dealing with customers who in many cases did not speak good english (and some not at all), I had a single neg comment in my feedback file when I retired.

I've also seen a lot of sellers who started out with high quality products, and service, become sloppy once they got a certain number of pos feedback under their belt.

Seeing as you mentioned Rainny, let's compare his feedback rating with Chonburiman.

Pat (Rainnybetta) has a total of 1318 transactions with 335 unique users, 0 neutrals, and 1 negative. Unique Positive Feedback Percentage: 99.7%

Chonburiman has a total of 129 transactions with 49 unique users, 6 neutrals, and 2 negatives. Unique Positive Feedback Percentage: 87.5%

From those stats I know which seller I'd be more inclined to deal with.

BTW - if you watch the vid on the following auction, and if indeed this is his farm, he has more than enough tanks & fish to supply his auctions on AB.

Damn right. LOL

Someone should breed a green flowerhorn. Like lime green. It would be awesome.
