its not a pure warmouth, this is a warmouth

this one looks alot longer/skinnier than the one u have a picture of on the botom. also, i catch green sunfish in nj and they all have the same fin color thats like a creamy white but u gota remember fish can change color under stress, ull have to take a picture of the fish being mellow to no the actual color of it and then try and identify it that way. but i no **** about identifying sunnies all me and my friends do is curse alot wen we catch a sunnie lol

here is a pic of a full grown GSF/Warmouth hybrid

also, all the green sunnies i caught had a horizontal spot pattern, and this one has that so idk about it being a hybrid cuz the warmouth had vertical patterns so im not sure about it being a hybrid altough ive never seen a hybrid like that

That fish has traits consistent with a green sunfish, such as white edges to the fins and specific looking iridescent stripes on the face. I don't see those traits with your pictures.
Not that I am trying to gang up on you, but I agree with ShadowBass.

There's Warmouth in Jersey too? damn, didn't know they could swim that far upstream. I caught my first one when I was 8 in south Florida where I grew up. They are really mean fighters.

did i say warmouth? my bad i didnt no they existed untill i saw this post so no theyre not in nj lol wat i ment is there are green sunfish up here

We have Green sunfish and Warmouth (along with Bluegill, Orangespots, Redspotted, Redear and Longear), and I dont think you can get a positive ID a hybrid until theyre out of their juvenile stage and calm. I always have trouble IDing hybrids unless its a Greengill which Ive seen enough of to tell, and dont feel bad Ive seen experts (fishery biologist)arguing about the Id of sunfish hybrids. You could be right.....or wrong but a better picture in a couple of months should tell.

He looks different in the tank, i have a crapload of sunfish from this lake and after looking at all of them i am pretty sure he is a warmouth/green hybrid.

Warmouth are known for their colors-changing and are always variable. He still looks like a pure warmouth to me.
