I was wondering how many years it will take before my GT is full grown. I know that they are extremely slow growers and I have plenty of patience I'm just curious. I got him in Feb. of last year so he has to be a year old. When I got him he was about 1.5" and after a year he is between 3.75" and 4". I will post a video of him, I can't get any good pictures of him because in the last 2 months he has become overly aggressive towards anybody who gets within 2 feet of his tank and he won't hold still if you get close enough to snap a pic. He isn't aggressive towards his tank mates just people and cats.

I bought my female at about 1.5" in Nov. now she's just over 3.5" But your male has alot more girth to him then my female. I was told it takes a few years, just give him another year or so and I bet he'll be HUGE. And looking at your tank setup, he might soon become the dominant fish in the tank.

He's already the dominant fish in the tank. All his tank mates stay out his way and there is very little fighting at all in the tank. My FM likes to push the severum around but stays well away from the GT.
Yeah I agree he is most defiantly going to be a glass banger. He already hits the glass when gets really upset. He use to be really mellow but I guess he must be going through puberty because his testosterone is threw the roof. The funny thing is that when I do water changes he runs and hides in his cave and totally scared of my hands.
i got mine in january last year and he is alittle bigger than yours.. what size tank is yours in? he is definitely a really nice gt all the ones my lfs carrys are not great but i still bought mine there anyways.. here is a pic so you can see how much mine grew in about a year..
Maybe you and xinchavoc got different genes for the GT's? One could be a more dominant and faster growing type genetics..
