Well that would make a lot of sense. You got yours in January and he was 2". I got mine in Febuary and he was 1.5". You fish would be a little bit bigger than mine as you got yours a month before me and it was a .5" bigger.

There are many factors in determining the growth rate of fish. Water, feeding, the parents, etc. I say just enjoy him since you have a great looking fish.

Beautiful terror my friend. I got my guy and he was about 2 inches and unfortunately he died about a year later and he was 9 inches...grew insanely quick!! Had him in a 150 community. I got another one about a month ago, he's already grown about an inch since having him. Awesome fish man!!

Im just a little curios but my GT is a really picky eater is that what yall have experienced? seems like mine only really likes flakes! And it will eat half a rosy red when it gets treated !

Not to scare you but that might be early stage of "IP". I lost my monster GT to it

Looks great. I would do 50% water changes a week and feed a variety diet. That's about all you can do.

I Do a 30% water change twice a week, and feed him a varied diet consisting of Hikari & Omega one cichlid pellets, veggie flakes, skinned peas and Lima beans, algae wafers, blood worms, ghost shrimp, and earthworms as well as other things. Mostly I feed him the pellets, wafers, and peas. Mixing the various other things in now and then.

Mine's not very picky. The only thing he refuses to eat is broccoli.
