Green Terror Male / Female.

That body shape doesn't seem like a GT to me, the head profile seems off, more gently curved.

I can't see enough of the caudal fin to see the full lining, but my Blue Acara has a solid neon orange/yellow lining along her dorsal.

Obviously mine has much more vivid striping but it looked a lot like yours before it was fully settled in. I don't actually think it's a Blue Acara but I'm fairly positive it isn't a GT. It's definitely Aequidens thats for sure.

Same Acara as above, was like this for 3 weeks. Looks an awful lot like your fish in this shot.

Hmmm. They do look similar. Time will tell. See my last photo though there are visible bands starting to appear. If I can get some better photos i'll post them later.

blue acara you can see why the two get confused but with close inspection can tell them apart the mouth is lower then the gold saums and there pretty differnt from True green terrors

it's a for sure male green terror i have one that looks just like that but the fins arn't ****ed up like this one! but when his fins grow back he'll be beautiful good save bro!

I thought this thread was gone and forgotten. Anyway its been a few weeks but there is now a more noticable red fringe in the caudal fin. The colouring is more or less the same. I am due to receive a group of 6 3-4cm green terrors tomorrow so I shall be able to compare.
I have incidently looked around in shops and on the net and I have seen large colour and shape variations in what people class as Aquidens Pulcher(Blue Acara), I am beginning to suspect that breeders have been poorly selecting breeding fish and hence that is why the confusion between Rivalatus and Pulcher is so common.
