green terror, male or female

im thinking male, irridescense of scales gives it away, my female had nuchal hump and trailers way before my male ever did, nuchal hump size can vary depending on whether he is in breeding mood or not, but it also depends heavily on genetics so you could just have one that doesnt have good nuchal hump genes. either way you did great job raising that fish it looks great. but yeah look at its side scales under good lighting and if they are irridescent then its def male, my female is really colorful for a girl but her scales still dont have that shine that my male's did

I would have to say male

yes this is the same fish, i originally thought it was a male but the fish is around 10 inches long now and has not developed the trailing fins or the hump.
so it makes me a bit skeptical on what it really is.
i would really like to know how to vent this fish so i could be sure, anyone know how?

While your fish doesn't have the long trailing fins or the hump, as someone else noted that is not tell tale. For me, tell tale other than venting is the coloration, especially on the scales. Do you see how yours has that light blue tint. Females don't seem to get that and are generally duller in color.

Now for venting, the main thing you are looking for is the hole where things other than poop come from is bigger in females because eggs come out of there! At least that is my understanding. Sometimes even venting can be hard to tell though.
