If it was a GT it would have Orange on the tip of the tail. thats a sure way to ID them.

Yes if it was a Gold Saum (GT) it would have orange on the tip of the tail.
However if it was a Silver Saum (GT) it would have white on the tip of it's tail.

blue acara...i was told the vertical line over the eyes gives it away too....

just another vote for Blue Acara . . . first thing I thought when I saw the pic

The shape of the face is also different. With GTs it's usually a sharper slope. I don't think I've ever seen a blue acara that colorful though.

Looks like a GT cept theres no Orange in the tail... so the only thing it can be is the Blue Acara. The BA's name never made sense to me. Much like BA on the A team.

It's 100% an Andinoacara pulcher (Blue Acara).

If you look closely though, you'll see that it does have a thin orange lining on the caudal fin, at least through the top half, which is perfectly normal.

To sArook, possibly not the best idea interbreeding the orange and white tipped variants. You may notice they have a fairly different body shape, as they're different locale variants of A. pulcher, with I believe the yellow/orange tipped variety being from northern Colombia, and the white from Venezuela, but don't quote me on that.
