Ok you guys have me reconsidering the GT idea. It is one of my favorite looking freshwater fish, but visualizing a full grown one in my 55 does look cramped. So how about some suggestions for something else.

I agree, it is an amazing looking fish. I'm trying to convince the wife to let me get a large tank for the bedroom so I can put a GT pair back there Doubtful it'll happen anytime soon, but a guy can hope!

As for what to keep in a 55g, it's pretty limited unless you used it for growout. Personally I'd go with a pair of Sajica (T-bar). I just like their colors more than FM's.
