Well that changes things. You could probably keep a GT in the 55 for life, the oscar would be fine for a year... keep in mind 55 is 12'' wide internally, oscars can grow up to 15'' over several years.

I have an oscar, but no experience w/ GTs. If I had the choice again, then I would get a GT. They just have more color and don't get as big and messy.
I mean i have a 125 with some dempseys and polyps and a convict, just didnt know if i could put the GT in there as well
All this for a 55g? Yeah, Green Terror is the right choice for that tank for while. He'll likely outgrow it in a few years. But by then you'll have bought a bigger tank, been given a free Oscar, and realize how dumb the GT is so you'll be moving him on anyway.
Oh, that's different. Yes, you have room for either one in there.

Just a male and female with about 30 babies and a couple of little catfish in a 156 gallon. I've already fed them just a litle while ago but the male might take some more, he's a pig.
