GT r the BEst!! 
males can get to 12 in but mostly 8-10 females are smaller and dont get the hump up to 8 inch. THey r pretty mean when adult hence the name Terror but they look so beautiful. males r much better looking if u ask me. I like the hump they get looks cool. BUt yea they are pretty mean but it all depends on fish I saw a male GT adult online living wit a gold fish, so it all depends

red terrors r meaner. i use to own 1 a long time ago their killers. but it all depends on tank/fish/ how much space they have too. n if u put him in tank with bigger fish must likely it would b scare of bigger fish since when their small their not so mean. so they can live with oscar n stuff. but long term wise like years its gonna start fighting to control tank

It usually depends on individual fish. The only difference is that GTs seem to be mean from the start, but RTs don't get mean until they hit the 5" mark. Of course, this also varies from individual to individual.
Getting him small and putting him with bigger fish won't really make him less mean, especially without enough adequate room to claim territory.
i had a red terror and it killed everything in my tank in a matter of days of putting it in their. and after it killed everything it got a very pale color and hid all the time. do you think that a gt would work in a 55 with 2 false gar and a sen bichir
well gt r know to fight if there is more than 1 male. and 55 g is a nice tank but long term wise say if u wanna keep em for years the weaker 1 will get killed. but temp. set up they would do fine just keep and eye on them o yea when u pick gt trick pick best lookin 1 like for male try fine 1 with a hump on its head. that shows its a dominate male and they look cooler.
really depends on the fish, RT's do seem to just be plain mean. Yet, I have had my GT with multiple other fish,both aggressive and non aggressive and he has always left them alone. I heard this a long time ago and it might be a wifes tale .I was told if you lower the temp to the lower side of their natural water parameters that they arent as aggressive. I do this, slowly, if I see aggression starting up. Also keep them well fed, have lots of things in the tank to break line of sight and have a big enough tank. Overstocking wont do anything except kill fish (which should be enough not to do it) and waste money. If you cant keep a large enough tank for the fish you want, be prepared to change your stocklist to something for suited to your situation. Not trying to be harsh or smash dreams, just trying to be informative.
what would be a good cichlid that i could do with those fish i like EBJD but their to much money
