I have not added any new fish. I just added some quick cure and turned the lights off. I don't have any garlic extract, but it sounds like something that can be DIY. Can I make my own garlic extract at home (maybe mash some garlic and dilute in water?) or is it something with a generic name that goes beyond what it's name suggest?

Yes, that would be fine. Just mash it up, and soak the pellets in the mash.

The brine shrimp is always live. The other shrimp is dry.
The poop is really white, thin and now they refuse to eat anything. Even what they used to like...

Didn't see this earlier. It may be internal parasites, and it may not. It has came to my attention that alot of GT's seem to go through this mysterious stage, where they get white stringy poop, and refuse to eat. I really don't know what it is, but alot of people on this site have experienced it, incuding myself. My advice is to try medicating using prazi-pro or jungle parasite, but if that doesn't work....just continue feeding them the brine shrimp or blood worms(as those are usually the only food they will accept for some reason) and just brave it out. My 2 didn't eat pellets, and had the white stringy poo for almost a month until one day they just mysteriously started eating again. It's pretty wierd .

Old post I know but My GT also has been having I wouldn’t say stringy they are thick as logs but they’re clear poops and just recently he stopped eating his pellets which has been his staple for half a year, but he still eats flakes for some reason. Don’t think it’s parasites because it’s not white and stringy rather most clear sometimes combine normal clear normal size poop. Could It just be a weird phase him not eating pellets anymore ?

If it is clear mucus like poo it could possibly be some internal parasite or a GI problem of sorts. No harm in trying some ken's metro flake. I use it often for a couple days when I add new stock out of paranoia. Has the fish's behavior changed markedly? If it has a lot of competition it might only show subtle signs until the problem progresses further. Hopefully, he is just protesting and requesting a menu change. If so, a good fast may help.

He’s in a tank with 4 other feisty eaters as well but he’s the boss of the tank, lools
perfectly healthy and hasn’t lost his appetite for flakes so i’m gonna feed only flakes for a week or so and then try the pellet again. If problem persists I’ll change pellets.

At times it looks like a mucus poo but other times they are normal looking??‍♂️

Sometimes they look clear like mucus but other times they are totally normal so I’m not sure a parasite is the issue but i’ll keep a close eye if his behavior changes. about a month ago he flipped a switch from being the wimp of the tank to the now boss but I thought that was just natural for him to get more aggressive as he grows

I wouldn't worry about it....he's probably being picky. As long as he's healthy, eating, and behaving normally you are fine I would think.

I’m just feeding them flakes for a week as I think I’ve been over feeding them a bit so hopefully after a week with only flakes he’ll be happy to have the pellets again but if not any good pellets you reccomend other than hikari cichlid gold? Have NLS pellets too but they are very small

Here’s a pic of his Poo. Looks normal but has that clear ooo encasing it and sometimes it’s just the clear no normal looking poo. still not eating pellets but is eating flakes
