i know you were not laughing at me. it might verywell be a hybrid. i'd like to see pics in a few months after it puts on some more size. I bet those spots on the side fade in time. i guess we will see.
 
Even your fish don't have the pronounce/perfect iridescent ring around the black blotches like fish in question. Only fishes I can think of that does are Trimacs and Trimac hybrids such as FHs.

But than who knows I have not kept any Texas cichlids or Carpintis in a long time so could just very well turn out to be a very stressed out, under fed fish.

looked at the pics and compared to others the head/mouth looks a bit different then a pure carp and cyano. going to go with you and call it a hybrid. After all that.
