Black it out...Cover the tank with a big blanket for a week.....Put the plants in a different tank while you do this...Uncover after a week, and feed/change water...If tank is still green Repeat......

Will my fish be find for the week? or should i just pull them out? or just give them a feeding.... or do i just keep feeding them over the week. Oh and how long will the plants last in a tank not rooted?

I would get a small UV for my 60g but it seems like a waste. or just get it use it and keep it?

They will be fine with no food for much longer than a week ;) Do not lift the blanket at all...The algae feeds on UV..Blacking out the tank and minimizing available food, you will, in effect, starve the algae to death....

if your lights make that green soup its worth it lol
get the smallest cheapest one
i think i paid 40 or 50 for mine
all in one from petsmart
its on my 240 lol

you will still need to cut down on light time tho
