I have seen many photos of his enclosures..in other threads.
Most tortoises try and climb sides of their enclosures, whether its a rabbit cage, or whatever else!

the sides just have to be at least 3 inches above the tortoises shell so they cant see over.
my pair always climb the sides...their only a couple of inches tall themselves, my cage tray is 5 inches tall.

You're missing the point. If you know as much as you claim you do, then you would not recommend an enclosure where the tortoise can see out. That site is one site, there are probably many, many more that totally do not agree with that. If the tort can't see out, he's not going to really try to get out.

I know alot on hermanns and russian tortoises, any other species im goggle it because i dont study other species just yet.
but it is a known fact hermanns and russians can be in a rabbit cage.
The sides should be higher than the tortoises shell so they cant see out of it yes! but what im trying to say if the sides are high enough, and the tortoises cant see out whats the problem with a rabbit cage?

A rabbit cage might work when they are small but not for life. Plus why buy a rabbit cage? It costs a lot more then one you could just build yourself, plus there's a lot of wasted space. I'm a big fan of avoiding overpriced purchases at pet store when you can DIY.I only had to deal with a rabbit cage because of my parents, they wont allow rubbermaids or table tops.
