honestly, i notice his growth on a day to day basis. when i moved him out of the 60gal he was only 5", he's been in the 150 for less then 4 days and is now about 7". crazy growth.

Thats almost hard to believe. I've probably had over 15 RTC's and have never had on grow THAT fast. I currently have a pair of little guys in a 265 that only grow about 1.5-2" a month tops.
It must be the food. What do you feed him and how often ??
I recently bought a marbled cat, and he grows fast. Fastest grower i ever had. About 3" a month.

i feed him shrimp. thats it really. sometimes smelt. he wont take sinking pellets. doesnt see such flavor or taste in such a small item. so i jus stuff him with what he likes. prolly only feed once a day or every other day depending on his tummy size.
Nice before and after. I agree you should do another update in a few months. At this rate he will be making expensive meals out of his tank mates in no time.
its more then possible lol. i have the pics to prove it. hopin he doesn't go on a rampage n eats all his tankmates. i've seen tons of rtc with huge rays, huge flagtails, huge silver dollars. when they get huge, they become way more lazy.

At 7" he hasnt reached his adult coloring yet. All mine seem to get lighter as they age. He aint UGLY.

you want to get more color try giving him some salmon periodically. That brought out the red in my rtc big time.
