fair enough rux, no hard feelings, of course we all have our fave sports that we are passionate about.

I juts find it quite disrespectful for people to think they could beat a pro fighter, someone who actually trains full time and puts their ass on the line for a living. To me that's kind of like someone and his friends having a football (soccer) kick around in the park, thinking they could take on brazil or france :)

The difference is enourmous. Take it from me, I have sparred pros, including Eubank's brother.

For example, I am a boxing fan through and through, and I believe boxing is a class above MMA. However - let's use St Pierre as an example, despite him being MMA, what is generally a lower talent level than boxing - he's a pro fighter, he trains and fights for a living. Would I stand a chance against him? Even with some good boxing exp? Of course not, I'd get annihilated :D He works full time as a fighter, and me as an artist lol :D
you know i was sitting around with a few buddies earlier, had a few beers, beer muscles when i wrote that, you asked heght weight, 6/3 220 im in the introduce thing under mnruxpin, but changed it to ruxpin, dont even get me started on soccer cuz i really hate soccer, socker makes boxing look like the superbowl, i was in kempo karate, its kind of weapons oreinted but i never did forms , just fight, was heavy wight of course, im sure you agree keeping busy in sports keeps you out of trouble, and fight training keeps you out of fights, i can walk away or run, will hopefully never be in a street fight for the rest of my life, its just stupid, but god bless the UFC for making fighting fun again!!

so what happened with the pac morales fight? i tried to order it after watching the ufc...... but it won't let me and i ordered a porno by accident......
heh, by accident, thats what i always tell the wife

I agree with that, I don't get into street fights either. Somehow, if you know you can fight, you have a kind of secret confidence and people leave you alone even if you're not big, like me.

Baller - well basically pac just ****ing destroyed morales. Morales tried his best, but his best days are behind him, and pacman is a beast.

Time to show some respect, pacman right now is the best P4P fighter in the world. Screw floyd, who has been fighting borderline world class competition and beating them by boring decision, pacman has been DESTROYING modern greats.

Right now at 130, nobody beats him, and he's the best Asian fighter ever.

It seems like he has properly filled out into 130 too.

He came into the ring tonight weighing 145, he probably walks at around 155 now.

Damn! I didnt know it was gonna end this quick! Morales was down as early as the 2nd round... and the fight was over at 3rd ! I felt bad for Morales but i am glad he admitted that Pac was too much for him that night.

This is for you Zach !!!!

I agree, sort of. Pro-boxers beat mma fighters in any punching match, but that is only logical since boxing involves only punching. Now, there are obviously many types of punches, stances, positioning factors, etc. that they have to deal with, but it's a much more specialized sport than mma. Because of that, boxers are able to build a much more refined game and technique.

On the other hand, a good mma standup guy has to worry about his opponent's punches, kicks, knees, elbows, takedowns, subs, etc. Because of that, they generally don't have as technical of punching game, but IMO are more effective "fighters." There is a reason why a guy like Yosuke Nishijima, who has a boxing record of 24-2-1 (with 15 KO's) is 0-4 in his mma career. If you watch his fights, his boxing is always superior to his opponent's, but with the other factors thrown in, he ends up being unsuccessful.

That's why I prefer mma; it is, IMO, a more effective overall combat art. I am partial though to the ground game, growing up with a wrestling background, so that plays a role. I guess it all comes down to what your personal preference is. If you want to watch a more refined art, then boxing is your sport. If you want "fighting," then mma is the sport.

That being said, I think Thai Boxing is the overall most effective single fighting style in real world fighting situations (IMO opinion also the most bad ass style out there).

Either way, a pro in any discipline would destroy me in a fight. WAR GSP!! It sucked seeing the Hughes dynasty come to an end. He's probably still my favorite fighter of all time (right with Fedor, Wandy, and GSP right up there), but I'm glad to see GSP take the title over. He's by far a better fighter and will be the model for the next era fighter.
