GT and JD Need Tankmate

look at the "sex my GT" threads. They'll set you straight, with pics in most of em. They'll probably be the biggest help

Normally the males have better color, and seem to be "front loaded," or stocky looking compared to the female's body. The male has a noticeably longer dorsal fin that will be nearly even with the tail.

Hope that helps

all that stuff depends on the age of the fish. if it's a small male it won't have the noticeable extended fins and nuchal hump compared to that of an adult male. the males are usually more territorial and aggressive and damaging to other fish. they aren't as "dark" compared to a female gt. males are more irridescent, bright and lightly colored. sometimes their gold tail might have a little more gold in it than a female. young males don't look as good until they get older so it's confusing. if you are still confused try asking the people that work at the fish store. your average petco store might not be able to answer those specific questions so i recommend purchasing a fish at a legitimate fish store where the people are educated and have lots of experience with the care of tropical fish. good luck

I actually just spoke to a friend who is giving me a 75 Gallon. Once I put them in there could I possibly add another fish?

I have said this before: get a single convict. They are excellent dither fish and will provide lots of amusement for your GT.
