GT and JD Tankmates?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hmm well in that case there is no point in having him. I am not that keen on having my male and female flowerhorn divided but it is a necesity. Looks like he is going back :(

I agree. While it's easy to try to rearrange the tank, it might not take long for your GT to figure things out.

If your tank is big enough, you might want to consider adding some target fish to diffuse the attention/aggression. It's risky though - you might end up with the same problem and more fish.

After I added my dithers my very aggressive gt even stopped beating up my convict and pleco. She has been beating on the convict forever. I strongly recommend silver dollars (at least 6).

i had a jd n a gt together the gt was female and once everynown then chased the jd but what fish dont chase eachother a lil bit

Well I still got the both of them, I called the guy who I got him from and his son answered. He also works in the shop and he said to just keep them separated for about a week or so and put my GT back then, he said they should be ok he is more than likely just attacking him coz he is just another cichlid.
Ah well I am not stressing as much now tho as I have talked my hubby into letting me get an 8footer soon so if need be I will be re aranging my tanks and putt my oscars into the 8 footer and then my GT will have his own tank too. :)
