GT & Gold/White Saum pic thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looking good! I would bet it on 'male'.

Yours. As for the trailers, everything is slow about this fish. You don't notice the growth but surely enough the trailers extend slowly.

Yea the sex on this fish gets alot of mix reviews, some people say it looks nothing like there males at that size and its not a long enough body for a male, but I go to petsmart and all there terrors look like this. No trailer fins nothing to distinguish sexes, i don't think they can all be one sex or the other, whats the odds of that? Then some say hey nice male, or nice hump already. lol ah if only I could see a year into the future, then I could tell everyone the sex of their fish!!! lol

Hahaha don't sweat it it'll come. The slow growth is kinda why I was hesitant on getting a GT. Mine was actually a freebie from a friend who couldn't keep it anymore so I got it @ 4". We both seriously thought mine was female because the fin had been bit off so there was no trailing, 1 month later it just grew back. To promote good growth I reccomend Hikari Bio-Gold 2-3 times a day. Really beefed up mine in just a few weeks.

I take horrible pictures but I have a video...

[yt]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ln7FD6XqRwA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ln7FD6XqRwA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/yt]

The coloring is really not done justice because of the poor video quality, especially the red and green in the fins. Maybe I'll try my hand as taking some pictures again.

Last photos of him. 22 cm and still under 2 years old:

Love that boy decoder!

Thanks Roliva. I wish he'd eat those tiger barbs soon cuz they eat his fin trailers and that really annoys me!

Btw what happened to your big umbee?
