u mean black ghost knife right
yeah.
I know they don't really bully anything bigger then them lol

yeah but they can be very sensitive aswell when being attacked and are often wuite weak, oh and would it be alone in the 55 or with the gt that you want

A ghost knife would get destroyed by the green terror if it didn't jump out of the tank.
I believe the only way to house these fish together, would be to get them as juvenilles and hope for the best.

i agree but getting them as juvies would meant hat you would at least want the bgk almost 5 '' and the gt at 1'' because bgk grow alot slower

haha nice choice mate
if you want i could show you a piuc of my 3 year old rivulatus that got a little bit stunted because it was in a 55 with an oscar, thats when i didnt know hardly anything about fish, its now in a 125 at my mates place

This is true, but then you run the risk of the ghost knife becoming over territorial
yer but it would be the safest way to go
or you could put a divider betwwen the two until they both got a reasonable size

From what I have seen 55 gallon tanks work best for starting a larger tank. Finding a few young fish with the same requirments and growing them up for while in there will help you decide what you like best. And then somewhere in the future you can upgrade your tank size. Worst thing that can happen you start to feel like the tank is at its max. so you take a few to your lfs for some credit, And someone with the room for them picks them up. I often grow fish up and take them in to the lfs in the area. Just dont get fish that are really common because they (in most cases) may be denied. I also go to the shops to see what big fish they have. So its give and take. Or you could look into smaller cichlids there are alot of really cool cichlids that get 4 or 5 inches. Most are really nice colored too.
