I have never seen a GT that thick

He was bred for over -all thickness. He is at least 2" thick between the eyes.

This fish is bred through a specific genetic line (not quite line breeding). It has gotten better every generation. The body shape actually gives the fish a different appeal. It's like a FH, but not a hybrid.

That's a really good-looking short-bodied GT.

Thanks. These guys are just very massive and are not short bodies. Short bodies have a back end like that of a parrot fish, and have a deformed spine.

cracking fish mate, how old is he?

Nice strain thus far. All the males of this generation have been very fertile with a 95% plus hatch rate.

6" Female sitting on eggs.

Male and Female for size reference. Hard to get a good shot of the male's true colors. Sometimes he's silver-ish as in the previous photos. Sometimes he's blue like this photo. But, when he swims around he's mixed like the photo in my avatar. His colors are very intense. I have only seen one male that had a slightly more metallic sheen (that was all blue), which was an 11 inch male I had. However, that does develop with age and isn't as prominent until the fish is at least two years.
