If they are indeed captive bred (which is the ONLY way they would be legal), you would have to have proof to get them into the US. Do you or your supplier have that proof?

I'm guessing two things: Not really leopoldi, or they are blackmarket.

Don't say that jsut because they are here in the States that customs cleared them and they are legal. Blackmarket animal smuggling is the second largest blackmarket in the US (right behind drugs).

And my wholesalers always told me about who else they were selling to. It solidifies there standing the industry. If a place came to me that had sold to 6 or 7 other zoos/aquariums - that makes them stronger in my opinion, and more likely I'd buy from them.

I like your input. People like you are an asset to this website. Maybe they were smuggled but my friend in Denver wouldn't take that chance. They were special ordered for customers that is all he told me. I'm kind of happy this thread went the way it did because I know a lot more about these rays than I did before.

As far as Intermedia were concerned Isaac at RiverWonders sold out of them and sent me the wholesale list saying they were available. Not my problem he sent me a list that wasn't accurate. You retards that didn't read my post saying I only want people interested need to grow up.

He is just 'talking the talk' to sound like he knows whats going on.. when I started asking him specifics about black rays - he had NO CLUE.

So maybe you shouldn't 'gauge interest' based on someone else blowing wind to act like they are 'on top of their game'.. because this guy has very little information about stingrays and told me he was getting his 'black rays' from Peru.. when I tried to tell them black rays are banned from export he tried to argue with me about it. Simply said, he tried to tell me a 'black motoro' was the same as a 'leopoldi'..

sry hutch.. i gotta agree. usually i stay out of these but this is what? the 4th thread of some rare fish your bringing in.. intermedia..armatus..leo.. all ive seen is the longfish oscars..... would love to see big armatus and ultra rare pbass coming into the states.. maybe you need to bring them in weather u have a buyer or not to prove yourself... if a 30,000$ platinum mundi can be brought in and sold im sure u would have no problem with intermedia and armatus .. just my 2 words.. as nicely as i can say it
