GUESS WHAT I GOT

To minimise stress and have the easiest possible way of cleaning the sand, do this;

1. Only turn the filters off if the tank is very cloudy with sand. Turning the filter of anyway will cause a buildup of Ammonia, NH4 and NH3.

2. 0.5-1" of sand will allow less gasses to be trapped under the sand and you will have it MUCH easier when cleaning.

3. Fish will do fine in a clouded tank of sand so you need not keep them in an unfiltered 1.5G.

4. Post pics once everything is done.

i agree: get down to 1" at most. I wouldn't try plants w/ the sand or until you get more experience just raising fish.

i didnt get the GT :):) so yah im not gonna add anything else right now either.
right now???
dont you mean NEVER?

i won't hurt your fish to have a thick layer of sand per say except the gas build up the thing is its really hard to clean when its to thick

BTW i got my needle fish / needle nose gar to eat prepared:D to bad they passed :( but i plan on getting more when i set up a light brackish tank

Also don't even pay attention to those tags at petsmart ALL crap the only thing right on there is the price of the fish
