Remeber to stir the sand up once in awhile during water changes because gases get trapped in it that are potentially hazardous to your fish rock on youll get the hang of it in no time

cant i stay at 2 inches but do WC 2 times a week?? and is there anything i have to do special for the sand? like i heard there can be air pockets thats poisin for fish? is that true?

Congrats on going with the sand, you'll like the look. At two inches you can probably get away with it as the cons will dig around in it quite a bit. Do keep the intakes up or wrap the strainers with something to keep sand out of the filter. Looking forward to pics and great joke to start thread with.

i have to say i feel bad for your fish stuck in the small tank. But on good note like how that your switching to sand its great but pool filter sand doesnt get sucked up as much as playsand, also the gases are caused by anerobicbacteria that create the gases in deep sand.
