Guinacara rio caroni

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys.
I've had these pair for almost 2 years now, got it from a friend when they were about 3", now the male are 6". They are very mean if their tankmates are smaller than them, otherwise its just regular cichlid behavior. Mine doesn't like live food but eat just about anything. Right now im trying to get them to breed, making soft water is a pain in the a. I'll keep you guys updated on the breeding process. Im also trying to breed H. psittacus, A. heckelii, Geo. Abalio, and blue acara. lets see which pair will be the first to breed.

I agree with you on the droppin pH is a pain in the butt! Trying to get my pH a lot lower, as well as the alkalinity...lol. I've got five 'Brazilian' Hoplarchus psittacus I am tryin to breed, so far no luck. They are still youngins though. The aggression is starting to pick up, so possibly they are gonna be ready here soon! :D
