Gulper Catfish tank

Where do you get all your feeder fish from?
I've been keeping gulpers the last few years but have given up as they all stop feeding. I find because my water is hard with a high ph of up to 9 that the gulpers go off their food after a month or two either all together or for long periods and when they do eventually eat it's very small quantities.

I usually buy cultured red jewels and rosy barbs from a noteable pet place here. For some reason my gulper hates goldfishes and would only eat these. I've never run into problems with them. I also used to feed my bichirs with those rosy barbs. Sometimes tho, i add black water extract on my gulper tank to regulate the ph. But gulpers are known for long periods of hunger strikes right? My lil guy didnt eat for almost a month when i first introduced him to his tank

Here's a little update. Im spoiling my catfishes too much it seems. But who couldn't resist those fatties. Added more driftwood. That color is from the amazon triple black water extract i usually use in my south american catfish tanks after water changes

Tank looks bad@ss with all the tannins! My tap water is weird: it doesn't change ph no matter how much driftwood I add.

Heres a quick hand-feeding video. The first sacrifice is usually hand fed to stimpy. He seems to get really really excited with red jewels as opposed to feeder barbs, goldfishes, etc.

That's awesome dude! I recently got my gibbiceps pleco to start handfeeding and I'm working on striped raph although as of now he just "yawns" at my hand whenever I get near him with food.

Hehe at least you get to go near your raph. Mine just hides under his spot all day. What do you feed your raph? Mine only eats carnivore pellets, i reckon he prob eats the scraps from the shrimp and silversides i feed my bbee jelly cat
