Gustave the Giant Crocodile

Although there's not much evidence to support 150 victims, it would be entirely possible for one animal to kill that many people over a span of years, IMO. Keep in mind that scientists estimate him to be at least 60 years old. At that rate, that's only a few kills each year. People in some of those third-world countries still use rivers for many different things that we wouldn't need to here since we have running water. I see no reason why he couldn't just pick off a few people who are bathing or washing clothes each year. And it's not like the people there could exactly hunt him down either, they don't have that kind of technology. Honestly, I wouldn't exactly want to be in open water hunting down a 20', 1 ton crocodile either.

Also, 20' isn't that long for a croc, there is a croc in captivity at Alligator Adventures in SC that is 22' long.

Maybe not for some species, but 20' is quite a bit larger than the average nile crocodile.

I believe that 150 isn't a crazy number
even if it didn't start hunting people for saying 10 years.....that would be 50 years of hunting.....3 kills a year
makes sense in my mind. It is probably higher than that. Humans are not exactly designed to win a battle against a croc.

I love this quote I could see a new tv series! People one on one fights with crocodiles in the wild you have to find one 20'+n kill it bare hand!

Forgot to mention if you win you get to keep all your wounds! And the croc gets studied!

I love the story of gustave.
He is my hero. lol
Monster eats hippos and humans. I personnally beleive he is still kickin just went missing.

I agree!

It is a big croc I would hate to live where they do... If you hadd to bathe and wash everything in the river it would be pretty scary those people are brave! And if you saw the latest episode of river monsters you understand the bravery they have to go fishing there.

I wouldn't think it would take too much equipment to kill a crocodile, and the youtube vid doesn't prove anything unless it shows each person being killed, in which case I wouldn't be interested in watching it anyway. Big Crocs dont get big by being stupid, and even with the wonderful technology we have today, big Crocs still elude the Humans gunning for them.........
