ID LIKE TO SAY THAT EVERY BODY WHO REPLYED IS A VERGINA. THAT PITBULL IS GREAT LOOKING. AND NO THAT DOG WILL NOT HAVE HEALTH ISSUES. IV HAD MY DOG FOR YEARS,MINE CAME FROM GOTTI LINE AND HE IS A GREAT DOG. HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL. HE LIVE A NORMAL LIFE. WE RUN FOR HOURS. I GET TIERD BEFORE HE DOES. MY DOG IS ABOUT 75 POUNDS AND A 28 INCH NECK. HE IS GREAT WITH KIDS. AND THE REASON THERE CALLED BULLYS IS BECAUSE THE WAY THEY LOOK!!! I SAY CHECK THEM OUT.

I say that mouth thrush here should go look for dogs without defects purposely bred into them. :D Go get a pigdog or something, something that is actually brutal instead of getting the poor dog that will most probably experience health issues directly from his condition. Also buying these dogs encourages the breeders to continue breeding these dogs.

I think the decision will come down to two things...

1. Wants the dog for the way it looks from a bully standpoint.
2. Wants the dog for the way it looks from a UKC standpoint.

I think it's your choice in the dog that you want. Bottom line is...temperament. Make sure the dog is well socialized. If there is ANY aggression by the parents whether it's dog or human aggression... walk away. That is not how pits are supposed to be. If there is human aggression, then most likely that trait will be passed to the litter.

Just a quick tidbit of history... Pits way back in the day were bred for bull baiting. They showed aggression towards these animals, but any sign of aggression towards a human was unwanted. These types were immediately put down.

*COUGH* They were first bred to capture loose cows/bulls, or if a cow/bull turned aggressive the farmer would send in the pit, then known as bull-and-terriers, to hold the snout of the animal until the farmer is safe... I guess this is where they got bullbaiting from. They also looked a lot different then, they only started breeding them to be small when bullbaiting became illegal, and then they were also dubbed 'pit' bull terriers.
Hate to sound know-it-alish, but I just can't stand it.
Any update on this kennel/your situation, Mk?

Everyone hating on bullies need to kick rocks and keep it moving! i've never had any problems with my female. No health issues and never had any problems with her being aggressive toward any humans or other dogs. And don't knock on 'em if you've never owned one... that's all i'm sayin.

attack fish- you have alot of nerve talking crap on a forum. Go to a bully show in California... and say it to someone's face at a show.... i guarantee you won't...

Bettagurl, thanks for the clarification. It's been a while since I have researched.

On a side note...
Here's pics of Chance in case people wanted to see that some of us do have experience.
