Gymnothorax tile eel question

Hi im pretty new to brackish water fish, currently i bought 6 gymnothorax tile eel and they are in a 75g freshwater, they are eating chopped tilapia and market shrimp.

My question is how long can they stay in freshwater? and when is the best time to change the water into brackish water?

Also how do i turn a freshwater into brackish?

Diet:krill,bite size bits of fish and shrimp, can eat high protein pellets as part of diet, never feed goldfish.

Tankmates include mollies, orange chromides, mullet, blue devil damsels, monos,scats,Columbian sharks,volitan lionfish

Dont columbian sharks get big? Will they eat the eels when they get huge?

Also how do i make the water brackish? Do i need to buy saltwater and add it in the freshwater, sorry i have alot of question

Go to the pet store , they will have marine salt in bags, just put in the desired amount needed for the salinity you prefer

As far as columbian sharks go, they eventually get to 12 to 13 or so inches, and really aren't able to eat adult or subadult eels

I believe that's for freshwater aquariums, go with marine salt, it's sold in big bags and should last you a while

Ok ill look for some, what i the measurement with the marine salt, is it the same as freshwater?
1 tblsp per 5 gallons?

Depends on salinity your aiming for (you'll need a salameter/saltmeter to measure salinity), personally I'd do half of the dose recommended for full marine tanks
