H. carpintis 'Escondido' vs 'Chairel'

Hey guys. Looking for some advice here, purely opinion on aesthetics. Rapps has Herichthys carpintis 'chairel', and the wetspot has Herichthys carpintis 'Escondido'.... Which way would you go and why?

Anyone with pics of either strain feel free to share, help me make a decision. :)
 
The differences imo are too nuanced for a normal fish keeper. I just finished an order through wetspot, did the Escondido variant just because I've kept then before and I love their blues. They both look good imo.

My order won't be here til Friday. What I was saying is I ordered escondido based on my experience of raising escondido variant before. I also got the smaller ones, not the 3.5" ones.

You'll be happy with rapps or wetspot though. I'll have pics of small fry on Friday but it wouldn't give you any direction on making a real decision :)
 
I don't think you can go wrong with either. They are both incredibly beautiful fish. One of my favorites in the hobby.

Last time I read up on it, best I could make out was there weren't any real differences, except for the batch of fish pulled at the time. With the close proximity of all the collections points of the various carpintis, and the high likelihood that there is massive crossover during flooding seasons, for all intents and purposes they are supposedly the same fish. But I think thats caused a big bru-ha-ha a time or two, so I'm just repeating that this is what I've read (on this forum).
 
Thanks for the replies everyone. Maybe I'll go with the chairel variant so teqvet and I can post updates together to see how they differ?! Or maybe I'll just flip a coin, lol.
