Hagen Fluval FX5

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Based on Ducati's reply in another thread, I would take what he has to say witha grain of salt.

Posted by Ducati,

" would look at your energy bill to see if its worth it...I think the AC110 are about 6 watts (hardly a big consumer) but the air pumps and power heads....

You only really need 1 AC110 (or AC500 renamed) for a 90. I used to use two for a 180 which was more than enough.....and it was full of big fish

Who wants to maintain more filters than whats really needed? I know dont

Duc

AC are great filters, and very cost effective and last forever"

Cheers

Based on your own words, you havent had your hands on the FX5 series, just from what you heard or hearsey or Internet research.....so your opinion is just that - you will need to do alot more than provide opinions that go against the grain of most LFS and many others that see this product in a positive light....there is nothing cheaply made on this unit - take a real look at it - dont listen to internet chatter

And when i say folks are blindly loyal to anything Eheim and in the same breath they say everything else is crap, then thats being naive....maybe your not one of them??

i've taken one apart i never bought one and my reasons are they are cheaply made looks like a toy and they've already had probs with them

thats what i mean by research

i take most candians with a grain of salt  ....other than that you can cut and paste all you want and of course alter the thread and twist my words....
You forgot to leave in what the original questions was...nothing I said was wrong (except it 14 watts not 6)

Lol thanks Saku i needed a laugh i guess the $1500 on filteration in my 90 was a waste i should have bought an AC110

$1500 on a filter for a 90 gallon....LOL I got a bridge to sell you,

Well i think what you all say is bogus....... I have this big net see.... it has carbon, sand, cleaner shrimp, stingrays, catfish in it.... i just mix them all up in there and *SWOOSH* them around in my tank..... the water gets kind of cloudy.... but don't worry that means it's working!!!
P.S. Don't wash off the carbon.... it makes the water clear. black is better!

heh.... sorry for the ill humor.... live a lil.... buy one and find out for yourself.... and everyone stop bein so critical.... it's awesome buy one! i'm sure you'll appreciate it... i would after i spend that much money on a filter...... Anyways.... can't we all get along? xoxoxo
