Hagen Fluval FX5

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Works excellent - Have it on a 220 G lots of power!!...It has the ability to drain your tank under power (for example if you need to pump up and out - no problem- makes for real fast water changes, Everything is solid and well made.

what else do you need to know?

Only bad thing I can think of is the price  but I am sure it is well worth it I hear there is even a computer chip in it

The price depends on where you buy it from - Internet is $280 or so.
Based on its performance what other filter has the same perfomance or better for the price?

i checked them out last year when they first came and the reseach i found is they are not that good, for the money you could buy a eheim pro 2 or 3 much better canistor.
wish i kept the links to the poor reviews sorry guys but trust me its still a mid level filter.

usually when someone says trust me - thats when they lose all credibility..
I honesty dont care what folks think about it - especially when they arent using one on a day to day basis (such as myself).....there seems to be blind Eheim loyalists, which is just stupid but that isnt a knock against Eheim, its a knock against being naive and easily led....LOL

It would appear you didnt do your research because these units sell out fast in the U.S...my LFS has been moving close to 30 to 40 per week....it would ruin his business if what you think is true actually was.

Mid level filter? its got serious performance advantages over the other canister you mentioned...who else out there offers more for the same amount of money?
Curious....again we are talking about the FX5 series

Im really not going to do a campaign of who is better....I just deal with facts and real life results and move on....

trust me at over twenty yrs experiance and a room full of filters mostly fluvals in fact i have better stock then most lfs and i'm hardly naive or easily missled i base my statements on experiances i have with products not what i hear my hands on with fluvals is that they are cheap dont and deserve any more of my money i buy the best possible equipment available so it you thinks thats naive then i guess its your decision to think that way but dont call someone naive and missled when you dont know what there experiances are.
