Hagen Glo T5 HO Lighting System

This is a pic of the 75 gallon Oceanic that I recently purchased via Craig's list.

As you can see, it has just a glass top and I am wanting to get rid of that and add some lights.

Does anyone here use these:

I am thinking of getting the Hagen Glo T5 HO, but I am unsure if it can be used with my type of tank. Will the clamps work so I can have it above the tank? As you might be able to tell, I am rather clueless when it comes to this type of lighting setup.

Thanks for any advice that can be given.

should be okay. the Hagen GLO lights are really good. the only thing they lack is an on/off switch but you can plug them into a timer and turn them on/off that way.

you can either use the clips to raise the light above the tank, or you can just pull out the extenders on either side of the housing, and sit it directly on the tank.

For some reason, I was under the impression that you had to use this sort of lighting on the "frameless" tanks.

it has clips that sit on the rim of the tank, but it does also give you the option to sit it directly on the tank.
it provides more than enough light even if you wanted to get some plants.

Don't get rid of the top glass though. The light will work fine with the glass in place.

that was the setting for one of my exodon tanks. i added more plants to it, and DIY CO2. the other pic is up there in post #5

gotta love the hagen GLO lights. theyre pretty good, and fairly priced.
