haggling a fish away from petsmart

I got it!......next time you stop by there, go into another area, lay on the floor and yell out that you slipped on a puddle. When the employees come to assist you tell them you are injured, they are negligent and you will sue.......if they do not give you the fish.

This is probably the best idea so far. I think I should accuse someone of sexual harassment to really seal the deal. I could probably demand a free tank as well.

Haha!....just trying to add a little humor.

But the fish cannot be bought! They won't sell. I wish I could impart to you how prominent the "not for sale" sign is on the tank. Ill get a picture of it next time.

Are you implying I should go in there and offer a simply ridiculous amount of money for the fish? I think that's a little unreasonable. I would be willing to go as high as $100 maybe. In my previous negotiations we never got around to talking turkey though. As I said, they were staunchly opposed to even taking offers.

I know you really don't want it and its hypothetical.

Flash 5 $100s in their face and guarantee you'll get it. The haggle of the best deal or what its worth goes out the window when buying stuff not for sale.

I don't think an ugly dude claiming sexually harassment will get you very far...maybe some neon tetras. I'd stick to the slipping idea :)

I am not implying anything...

I am saying reasonable or unreasonable is relative

Willing buyer willing seller

If the offer is enticing enough, they will sell

Wow, I can't believe they won't sell you that fish. When I worked at a pet store in charge of the fish department I would sell those fish in a heartbeat, only fish I wouldn't sell was our archer fish display tank or the blood parrot that was mangled by a red devil (the parrot cichlid became a store pet), I've had people drop off monstrous oscars, arowanas, red tail catfish, etc. and I would have them for sale for something like $200 but I'd have people offer me $50 and I'd take it, one less mouth to feed and I have another spot for a fish to sell. I'm going to have to agree with others though, show them pictures of your tank and offer them a few hundred dollars. You could also say if you don't sell me the fish, I'll post this on facebook so others can see how bad the conditions of your fish tanks are.

To catch you up to speed, I originally posted this thread two years ago and tried to purchase the fish. Since then I've changed up my fish game considerably and no longer desire or have the space to keep the fish. I'm merely trying to get them to set up a larger enclosure for it now.

Regardless I never would've offered several hundred dollars for a fish. Never paid that much, probably never will for a single fish.

Dont have facebook. Im probably too ugly for it by P PYRU standards.
