Haitian cichlids update

In my area (Charlotte, NC) I ordered them and it took a month and a half for them to finally come up on my LFS list then ship out
This guy is a BEAST!!!!! I’ve had mine since March 2017 and they were all 1-1.5”. December 2017 he’s almost 4” if I had to guess. I didn’t get him to accept pellets until around August/sept so that is my guess as to why he’s not as big as he should be. They were on 100% spirulina flakes. Hopefully with 2x/day pellet feedings he will catch up
Mine have grown pretty good mine don't eat everyday I don't have a feeling schedule. Mine have never eaten pellets I haven't used pellets in years.
Live blackworms, live brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms and just starting to throw in freeze dried krill.

I might go get some today to try out and see if he goes nuts over there. Last time I fed them I just threw them all in and let my fish pick them out of the substrate for as long as they survived. Is there any problem with doing this?
