Haitiensis - Pretty fish?

Hi all,

I read descriptions of the haitiensis and how they are pretty fish. I understand they have great personalities (and tempers to match) but wonder if they are really pretty? I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but this fish looks black/white in all the pics I've seen, including youtube vids...

What do you guys think?

A large male is gourgous. The color and massive fins. They are truely magnificent fish.

didn't vote , to me it depends on the individual fish , i've seen some nice and some ugly

They are beautiful fish imo.But beauty is in the eye of the beholder

To be honest, I really don't like them. They get some really nice fins as adults, but they just don't strike me as beautiful. I would take a Cuban over a Hait anyday. But that's just my opinion.

I can't lie though, their attitude definitely make them a cool fish to keep.

Haitensis are one of my all time favorite cichlids... i love the black/white contrast and the insanely huge fins.
