Haitiensis - Pretty fish?

Those two males together look sick. I wouldnt even get a female. It will mess up the chemistry

Love that blue shine it has compared to others I've seen even my own. Does that blue have anything to do w/ the lighting or substrate or is he naturally that blue?

Probably a little from the flash, but there are all kinds of subtle colors with just the aquarium lights.

It's one of those fish like Oscars are for others. You have to like the fish for what it is, because it's not exactly much to look at. I think Oscars are pretty, but that's after having kept them awhile and learning to appreciate every nuance. I'm sure if my friend owned one, I would like that specific fish, and then learn to appreciate others when I saw them. But I don't like them at the moment.

Very aggressive and no tankmates!! far too many reasons for no tankmates. try researching haitiensis with tankmates and bloat and youll get all your answers.

i am i just always wondered how aggeesive they were cuz ma friend got a 6"er but i told him it cant live with a community and he got it with a 7" rtm, 7" jag,and some huge kkp

As for the original question, I would never describe this fish as "pretty." That would be in insult I think. I really like the way it looks, but pretty is really to wrong adjective IMO. I think the same goes for some other big bruiser CAs like trimacs.

I looooove Haitiensis! I think they are gorgeous fish and are my #1 on my fish wish list!
