i gotta ask....so most people use this. the 2 pieces in the middle is what you use to "carve"

when most people refer to power tool, they're referring to this or in lesser cases a power drill with a knife attached

how does making a drill do the see saw motion for you suddenly equate to less talented? that's all it does. saves your hand from moving back and fourth? sure with a power drill you can sketch into the pumpkin instead of carving a chunk out or make perfect holes but seeing as most of the examples are your traditional "carving", how is that cheating? big whoops that they saved their wrists?

that one is electric but that's very basic and to me, that one is fine.

I was more referring to this kind of electric tool:

and with that tool they are able to do stuff like this. still amazing but again, i'd be more amazed if someone can do this without the use of a major power tool

huge waste of time if you do that by hand. it'll rot in a week. might as well cut your time down by 80 percent. you wouldn't tell people to build a sand castle with their hands and a shovel only or an ice sculpture with only a chisel

anyways, here's what i plan on handing out to friends i see on halloween

well, I don't care how people do things. i'm just saying I'm less amazed at awesome pumpkin carvings that used a major hand tool. tis all

and I would feel the same about sand castles and ice sculptures

Those onions are just wrong lol.

I personally could careless about how other people craved their pumpkins. I've seen some pretty awesome craving done with both hand and power tools. Having tried to sketch a craving into pumpkin takes as much skill as doing it by hand. So I the only real way I discredit a good pumpkin if it was stenciled.

is it true if you close your eyes and hold your nose and eat an onion it tastes like an apple? and the only reason why you know it's an onion is because you can smell it?

yes, we did that trick in school...well kinda. we had to hold an onion near our nose and then bite into an apple. the apple tasted like an onion
