where can i buy a hammer head?

The only species of Hammerhead available to private keepers is the Bonnethead. And even it requires a large swimming pool size pond of at least -5,000 gallons (bare minimum).

All other species of Hammerheads require special premits and are generally only available to Public Aquariums

Bonnets just don't tend to do well at all with private sized tanks. It must be a round or ovate shape (no corners, sharp edges, rocks etc....) They do damage to their eyes very easily. I've seen places have hard times getting them to take food as well.

If you have the tank for one, and can get one legally.... make sure you do your homework first.

So true - :)

The only successes I've heard of a few successes (of several years) in large swimming pool (over 20,000 gallons) size shark lagoons -with extremely knowledgeable keepers.

BTW - the 5,000 gallon minimum pond size I stated above is actually best only for pups(less than 24" long). I've actaully seen Bonnet pups on display at SeaWorld (Florida), in shallow lagoons that were about 3,000-5,000 gallons(but this was many years ago). The adults would actually need lagoons that are several times that volume.

So while it is possible to keep a Bonnet in a large private shark lagoon - If you have the knowledge, space and resources to do it correctly.

It's certainly not a species that should be recommend to the general public at large to keep.
