I ended up taking in the Oscar, 14" Gar, and my Gutalatum. I kept the Jag and the 2 JDs, only because they were primo fish. I also didn't want the JD pair to be split up.

I personally only like 2 Africans: Paratalapia Bleekeri/Polleni and the Frontosa. I say stay CA/SA and get some different fish.

ca/sa FTW and day of the week!!!!!!!!!!

I would get CA cichlids, mostly ones 12'' or under, like nics, some different thorichthys, HRPs, JD, mayan, robertsoni, salvini, vejia, freddy, or red tiger motas. Take you pick.
On the other hand a tropheus tank would be cool.

Thats what I'm doing. I have all CAs now. I ended up keeping the Guttalatum. I only got rid of the gar and oscar. The only non CA that I have with them is the Severum.

Keep the CA/SA, much more of a character. And more fun to watch.

I honestly wouldn't want any of your fish accept for the guttulatum but I sure as hell wouldn't replace any of them with some boring africans that are going to take 5 years to mature. Oscars and jack dempseys are just too common so I could see why you were bored with your setup.

get a couple of viejas, argentea, bifa, and a synspilum, then you will never think of ever getting african cichlids.

I already have all of those, but they are 6" or less.
