Hardiest fish you ever had to find?

What the hardiest fish you ever looked for and found and bought? Doesn't have to be a catfish.

Mine was trying to find paroon sharks. Ended up costing 175$ for 2 2" babies from Cali. I am in PA.

i got my first butti after searching for 2 years here in india for 10 $ = 500 indian rs for two 2" fish
 
I looked for 3 months for festaes and I happened to just stumble on the local classifieds and a Guy was selling a tank with them and I asked to buy just the fish and he said ya. I got five .5" festaes for $25 total. But now there dying on me :( if I didn't see the add I'd still be looking because no store or anyone else has them for sale ever, or I've never seen them if they did for a short time.

took me a few years to finally find some true jurupari. bought 7 babies for $20 a pop. had them almost a year now and the biggest are around 4" now.
 
lol this is going to sound stupid but my silver aro. searched for 3 years to find one big enuf that the other fish wouldn't eat ended up finding one at a lfs that was 22" know he is almost 31" and i still love him :) im also waiting but i want to find a tsn x rtc have only ever seen one in my area and it went fast
 
Yeah,

Festaes, Red Texas, EBJD 4" or more only, Red Tiger Mota, (All found finally)

Still havent found ("regular" Yellow Freddys, not La Ciebas), and Andinoacara Stalsbergi (found them but the seller is mysteriously elusive, wierd)
 
My Cichla piquiti (Azuls), searched from January till some vendors finally got some mid Octoberish.

$250 a piece, had one die on me (gill flukes), so i have 3 left.
 
For me it's having $$ when they are available. When they pop up its....oh car rear-ended...xmas presents, bdays etc.

I just want a nice wc kelberi...once available im broke :(
 
I think you meant to say "Hardest fish you ever had to find?" Which I am actually still looking for so many after all these years... it's crazy how much we just keep going and going... I keep popping into the LFS's hoping and praying... look on sales sites, importers sites, forum and any word of mouth I happen across... it's hard to get what you want sometimes
