Hey guys,

I have a 55 gal. empty and I am looking for a hardy fish that can take 2 long distance moves a year for four years (aka college) It is a four hour drive and I would love to take this tank with me. My original plan was to do a saltwater tank and leave it at home but my dad doesn't want to feed them. Lame I know...

So I thought about an oscar but was informed that one would be too many. I understand that 18 inches deep would be good for them to turn around in but the 75 is already claimed.

What else could I stock this with that is that hardy and that friendly of a fish?

Any ideas welcome!

You are renting an apartment I gather, as most dorms won't allow tanks that big.

Does your land lord know you are planning a 55 gallon tank? Most college rentals are older homes that are poorly maintained. I am not sure I have ever seen one I would trust to support the weight of a 55 gallon tank.

Have you seen the place you are moving into yet?

I am staying in the dorms. it is an old motel and I have stayed the night in my room before as my roommate will be my sister's boyfriend. They will allow the tank and my other tanks too. It is not a problem.
