Hardy Movable Fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah really. The vibrations and bumps in the car can cause stress on the tank. Personally I would consider finding someone that lives close to campus that I could leave the tank and fish with over the summer.

You are renting an apartment I gather, as most dorms won't allow tanks that big.

Does your land lord know you are planning a 55 gallon tank? Most college rentals are older homes that are poorly maintained. I am not sure I have ever seen one I would trust to support the weight of a 55 gallon tank.

Have you seen the place you are moving into yet?

A 55 gallon tank only weighs 467 lbs... so about 500 with stand and all. Most houses have support beams under floors... 2 people sitting on a couch weighs just as much as a 55 gallon tank... :screwy:

Ha yeah man. I'm not moving it full of water either so dane still doesn't make sense to me. I just picked it up today and drove it home and I struggle to believe it caused stress to the tank.
