Has Anyone Cut the overflow box vents before?

A friend of mine cut very thin slits in his corner overflows in order to make a more even flow throughout depth, as opposed to primarily on the surface.

Your friend must have a big sump, otherwise when his pumps are off = flood city.

Flood city for sure...gotta think of your sump level any time you play with or cut your boxes. I guess if he cut slots in the bottom and there was a standpipe style drain inside the overflow box that would work.
