Seen it numerous times. Like it! The ability of Americans to keep and bear arms was one of the reasons that Japan was afraid to invade the U.S. during WWII !!

A rifle behind every blade of grass...

Welcome to the gun culture, maybe your name fits now

I was born into, just took a little break for the past couple of years. Did you really just now get my name?

Ive been wanting to read that book for some time now, I just cant seem to find the time to sit down and read. Maybe I will try and get it an audio book and listen to it while I work.

Great movie you should check out the tv series jericho its about america gettin nuked and people invading reminds me of red dawn but has less action more drama

Thanks, Ive seen jericho a time or two but I can never watch a series week in and week out so i rarely get into them.

Did any one here they are doing a remake of Red Dawn? The wiki article states that it would be remade with "keeping in mind the post-9/11 world that we're in." I really hope they dont make it too PC and ruin what the movie is about! :(

I did not "just get It" it sounded to me like you did. Every gun board out there has has a thread about Red Dawn pop up every couple of months.

I think we are talking about two different things. I thought you meant you just got my username, "JD7.62."

And no I didnt just get Red Dawn. Its been one of my favorite movies since I was like 13. Its just that in my other recent thread in the lounge regarding my two new pickups I got into a discussion with a member who has an Egyptian AKM and that reminded me of the movie as the AKMs used were Egyptian made. One thought lead to another and I decided to make a thread on a NON-gun site dedicated to this movie. Hopefully we can get some younger folks as excited about our rights and our country as I did when I was younger.

You are right though, Red Dawn threads are staple on any gun board! :grinno:

Old School Classic flick! :headbang2

I thought C. Thomas Howell was actually tougher in this movie than when he played "Pony Boy" , (a 'Greaser') in " The Outsiders". :D

I enjoyed the film, dont know how I allowed all these years to go by before actually seeing it.I also have the book Unintended Consequences, ordered mine from an ad in SOF magazine and oddly enough I got my Maadi around the same time.I tried to watch Jericho but I cant get into too many weekly series I watched The Unit untill that quickly got old.I can only sit through 24 and Prison Break.

unintended consequences was not easy to obtain in the day, there was an ad in Shotgun News about the ATF removing the book from bookstore shelves.

Thats insane, paranoia must be a condition of employment with these people. When the gunshow rolls around every few months there is a book dealer who has it sitting out next to the Anarchist cookbook volumes.

Then I highly suggest a 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century history class as well as a good class that will teach you what The BILL OF RIGHTS is about. Since this apparently is no longer taught in America... You will get the point then....

Post some pics of the uniform
I'll dig it up.. The one I really wanted was the winter one.. (The one used by the VDV Spetsnaz in the later scenes) The "Red dawn" KLMK is based on Black and White photos of the 1968 camo before it was well know so it is really bright and has a third color to it. The original is similar but only two color and is reversible. The bright white and green pattern was actually intended to be used at night as it confused the early Night vision in use at the time. It is an ingenious pattern.. The other side is muted Olive and tan which lends to better daylight camouflage. The pattern is still in use today.
In fact here is a pic of me wearing the Splav "Berezka" (Birch). One of my favorites as it is cameleonlike. Colors actually are different in different light. This same jacket appears dark olive and olive tan in normal sunlight.
