no more smileys for you then they are ment to add humour to a thread to lightern the mood

im no expert on tigers but for some reason you have become a breeder/expert over night

what the statement about patchy tigers in genral was ment to point out is they are just a low grade tiger that normally get thrown back

you carry on with your personal attacks about my spelling at no point have i ever made any personal attacks on you

i think i will stay out of the tiger forum for a bit looks like it has moved forward way to much for me with all the future breeders and being able to sex tigers now

what ever next hormone bred tigers do you really think thats the way to go with breeding

Being sarcastic and passive aggressive is just as annoying.

Anyhow, I dont think any else agrees with you that the "patchy" STs like marshys are just "thrown back" as they are "low quality" like you claim. Yes there are low quality STs but ones like Marshy's are completely unique and interesting to own. Also the point of my thread was to see if any one had any ITs that were like as Ive never seen an IT like that. Again this proves your total negative opinions on just about everything.

As for the over night thing, no I havnt, I just have in the past several months done hours and hours of research. You have YET to claim how you have gained knowledge other then just by keeping them in a glass box. Until you are actively engaging different people form around the world in various fields from pet shop owners to fish farmers to other people trying to breed them to fisheries biologist, yes I will feel pretty confident that I have gained more fact based information then you have.

Also what is wrong with hormone breeding? Oh wait Im sure youve researched that and know everything there is!

patchy ST are not that rare their was loads of them about when ST surpplys started to dry up its just marshys one was nicer than average

they are throw backs if you ask me if good grade ST were plentyful then people wouldnt have even thought about buying the lower grade so called patchy ST

IM NOT INTO HYBRIDS OR HORMONE TREATMENT ITS NOT NATURAL

"patchy" datnoides can also get that way if they are beat up alot. If they lose the black scales on there stripes, it generally goes back to gold and therefor makes a "patchy" look to it.

Yep, I heard some people pick the black scales off the bars to acheive this patchy look.

I actually like the look of it and would buy one if one was available. I have never seen a patchy IT.

Well I hope he isnt beat up (for the fish's sake). His overall base color is also very odd. I couldnt capture it in the pics but it is really really cream yellow like nothing Ive ever seen on an IT. Its a shame how slow they grow to see how he will turn out though! :(

If you do read around a little bit on forums where Datnoids are way more popular than on here MFK, forums like arofanatics.com or tigercraze.com, you would know that patchy STs or ITs are considered by many as "low grade". Tigers with clean, dark stripes command a higher price...

Personally I don't find them attractive as I like the "original" stripe pattern better, on STs or ITs, but that is just me.

Im fully aware of this but like I stated STs like Marshy's are rare and unique in their own right and are totally different then what everyone would agree is a typical "low grade" ST (mine for example). STs like Marshy's and ITs like the one mine may end up being are far more rare then high grade versions (Im not saying perfect just really nice ones). I will agree that personally I like "traditional" dats and that is why I also picked up the other IT but I couldnt pass up a fish Ive never seen before and Ive seen tons of ITs working at LFS for three years and Ive never seen anything like this one! He stood out like a sore thumb out of the 40+ I picked him from.
