i have tried twice to keep one of these guys in the past, but both times they got beaten up pretty bad. i have heard many stories of people having them being real monster but the ones i got weren't.
as far as keeping them. i think a 75 would be big enough for one of them.

They're currently under 'exCichlasoma' urophthalmus, and have been for a bit now. No need to keep too close of a tab on them since they'll undoubtedly change again. Apparently someone believes that they don't belong in Amphilophus and that's fine.
"Cichlasoma" used to be the catch-all for South and Central American cichlids but Cichlasoma has been reserved for South American species only and exCichlasoma was resurrected for Central American species who don't quite fit in existing genera just yet. The JD was in there until recently when they put it back in Archocentrus. You can believe that one will change again too.
